NFL Divisional Finals Preview and Predictions: By Kyle Balfour

With the Wildcard round concluded, our beloved dark horses and underdogs have made it through to face the divisional champions in order to be one step closer to the Superbowl. Another batch of 4 games is upon us, so let's delve right in!

Game 1:
Philadelphia Eagles vs Atlanta Falcons
Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Winner: Falcons

Oh, goodie! A bird fight!

So the Eagles must face the Falcons without their beloved quarterback Carson Wentz, but Nick Foles is still a viable option. A strong running game tandem will be the weapon of choice I feel for the Eagles to keep up with the Falcons.

I still think the Falcons will win, mostly because I despise the Eagles and consider them playoff frauds (seriously, go and look at their schedule. They faced maybe 2 strong opponents all season long. A terrible Redskins squad, an abysmal Giants team, and the Cowboys lacked Ezekiel Elliot, all handing the Eagles 5 out of 6 wins - and like they could care less about their final game after clinching top seed. The only losses they genuinely got was from a red hot (at the time) Chiefs, and the Seahawks before they imploded. Every other win? Shit teams: the Chargers before they got decent, the 49ers before Jimmy Garropolo arrived, the woeful Cardinals, the pathetic Bears, the confusing mess that was the Broncos, and the error laden Raiders).

Yeah, I'm a bitter Giants fan. What about it? Go Falcons!

Game 2:
New England Patriots vs. Tennessee Titans
Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts
Winner: *sigh*

So it's down to this: David vs. Goliath. The scrappy, underdog Titans vs. The fucking Patriots.

Now, nobody (expect Randy Moss) thinks the Titans will win. I know this. You know this. Do we want them to win? Majority speaking, yes. Will it happen? Odds point towards unfavourable. However, the Patriots have been suffering some defensive setbacks during this season, but they are as offensively capable as ever. If there was ever a time to beat New England, it's now.

If you want people to remember you, now's the time to act.

Go Titans.

Game 3:
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Winner: Steelers

So after a horrible game against the Bills, where sadly one of them had to be the victor, the Jaguars must now face the Steelers.

Steelers: now is the time to get shit done. If you play down, if you write them off, if you parade yourself with your unjustified smug, self righteous, frustrating-to-watch attitude, you're toast. Just play the fucking game like I know you can, with the talented roster you posses, and get it done.
It will be tough with the Jaguars scarily good defence, but you cannot make Blake Bortles look good.

Game 4:
Minnesota Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints
U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Winner: Saints

Now this is a match-up I have been waiting for. The now consistent Vikings, led by veteran quarterback Case Keenum; who in my opinion is a surefire candidate for MVP, or at the very least is the comeback player of the year after being chewed up and spat out by the Jeff Fischer Rams system, are holding it together in the most spectacular fashion. Now they face their toughest opponent yet. While the Vikings did win against the Saints during Week 1, oh so much has happened since then. Will we see a repeat, or will the Saints show the Vikings what they've learned over the course of the season?

It's a really tough match-up, but I think the more explosive offence by the Saints will be too much for the Vikings to keep up with. Either way, I'm expecting a game of the season calibre match.

There it is! The Divisional finals done and dusted. See you on Tuesday for the Review!
